Petra’s story.
I’ve been married for 25 years. I’ve been a good wife. Always taking care of my husband and family.
It’s hard to make my husband happy. He tells me that I’m stupid, fat and lazy. If I talk back to him he says he will kill my dog. I see other women whose husbands love them and are kind and I wish I could have had that kind of marriage. I am old now and think there is nowhere for me to go. One of my daughters told me that there are people who can help me. But it’s hard to get away with no money and no car. He drives me everywhere because he loves me. I think it’s because he likes controlling me.
